School and Soccer

One month ago today, school started for McKayla.  She is in second grade now (sniff).  Jocelyn started preschool the next week.  Here are pics of their first days of school.

The girls have also started playing soccer for the first time and are loving it!  They both had their first soccer game this week and they did great.

As you can see from the girls’ pictures, they both got jersey #7.  It wasn’t planned, it just happened that way.  I guess we will be keeping busy with 4 soccer games a week and one extra practice!!

A true story...

Today I am going to tell you a true story. None of the characters in this story are anyone you know so there is no need to feel uncomfortable if something less than flattering is said...

DSCN0227Once upon a time there was a beautiful baby girl born to wonderful parents. She was well loved, being doted upon by her wonderful sisters. She grew in grace and beauty day by day. She continued her life in happiness until one unfortunate day a small boy pinched her at church. This began an experiment of her own-PINCHING! Such fun. She had many wonderful qualities despite her pinching. She was a social butterfly always saying hi to everyone she knew (and everyone she didn’t know). She was a beautiful child with dimples and curls all around her head (except the top of course!). One night (on a night quite like tonight), when the girl was not quite sixteen months old, her dear mother was giving her a bath. The girl wanted the soap but the very wise mother knew that if she got soap in her eyes it would sting. The little girl proceeded to get angry and tried to hit the mother to get her way. This had no effect on the mother. Seeming to have a change of heart, the small girl puckered up and wanted a kiss. The mother thought the little girl was just going to try to love her up to get her way. That was ok with her. Who turns down free baby loves? So the mother came in for a kiss and when she got about an inch away she was given her reward. A full on, angry slap across the face.

Sigh...

A day in the life of my stroller

Ever wondered just how much a stroller can hold? No? That’s okay. I can tell you though, it’s a LOT! Just the other night, myself and my 3 girls went on a outing. We managed to squeeze all these items onto my poor stroller:

  1. 2 scooters
  2. 2 pair of rollerblades
  3. 2 helmets
  4. 2 extra pair of socks
  5. 1 camp chair
  6. 2 water bottles
  7. 1 sippy cup
  8. 1 bag of chips
  9. 1 container of grapes
  10. 1 bottle of sun block
  11. 1 diaper bag
  12. 1 baby hip sling carrier thing
  13. 1 cell phone and set of keys
  14. and most importantly, the baby

I was sufficiently impressed. It’s like having 4 extra arms! I’m thinking whoever invented the stroller must have been a woman.
